Images showing different views of the same piece.

Vespers is a series of lenticular prints capturing Maja Petric's dynamic light sculptures, Reduced Landscapes. The sculptures depict landscapes in a state of flux, suggesting a moment of change or a transition to another state of being. Using dynamic light, Petric captures the fleeting, ephemeral qualities of natural phenomena such as light, water, and air, inviting the viewer to contemplate the beauty and transience of the natural world. The optical materials used in the sculptures create a sense of depth and movement, further emphasizing the idea of transition and transformation. Ultimately, the pieces are a meditation on the impermanence of nature and our own human experience of change.

The lenticular prints, Vespers, are made using a technique involving 4-8 frames to create the illusion of motion or change over time. As the viewer moves or changes their position, they can see different frames of the image, creating a sense of movement and depth. The artist uses this print-based technique to create dynamic, immersive artworks that engage the viewer's senses and imagination, similar to her immersive light sculptures.
